Home - Daughtry

I'm staring out into the night, trying to hide the pain
I'm going to the place where love
And feeling good don't ever cost a thing
And the pain you feel's a different kind of pain

Well, I'm going home, back to the place where I belong
And where your love has always been enough for me
I'm not running from, no I think you got me all wrong
I don't regret this life I chose for me
But these places and these faces are getting old
So I'm going home, well I'm going home

The miles are getting longer, it seems, the closer I get to you
I've not always been the best man or friend for you
But your love it makes true and I don't know why
You always seem to give me another try

So I'm going home, back to the place where I belong
And where your love has always been enough for me
I'm not running from, no, I think you got me all wrong
I don't regret this life I chose for me
But these places and these faces are getting old

Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it all
You just might get it all and then some you don't want
Be careful what you wish for 'cause you just might get it all
You just might get it all, yeah

Oh, well I'm going home, back to the place where I belong
And where your love has always been enough for me
I'm not running from, no, I think you got me all wrong
I don't regret this life I chose for me
But these places and these faces are getting old
I said these places and these faces are getting old
So I'm going home, I'm going home.

Oh the joy!

Yay! My uncle and his kids and THEIR kids are coming out for the first time in a while! I have barely seen or heard from them in the past six years!

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to see them and let them see our home. :)

Anyway, I haven't been updating my blog very often! That sucks! I've been watching a lot of movies and been out and about. It is quite easy to get carried away with school and homework and friends and forget about almost everything else! I don't know why, but at the moment I'm craving a nice big plate of poutine. And for my dog to shut up before I smack him silly! Just kidding, I wouldn't do that, but so annoying!

So I will try to post more often,

:)

Haven't blogged in a while, eh! Been so hooked up on school and homework and friends lately there hasn't been as much computer time, and when there is I can never figure out what to write about!
Anyway! Not a whole lot to say tonight, other than I'm tired!

Three quotes for today!:

Just because something is difficult doesn't mean you shouldn't try, it means you should try harder.

Dare to make your dreams come true;
Dare to be a better you.
Dare to choose kind words to say;
Dare to walk the higher way.
Dare to give a helping hand;
Dare to make a better land.
Dare to smile when skies are gray;
Dare to share a brighter day.

Climb high,
Climb far,
Your goal the sky,
Your aim the star.

First day of school - (full day)

Okay. Great classes today, but damn is it hard to get back into the early morning routines! I have to wake up at 6:30 every Tues - Wed - Thurs so I can attend leadership, which did I mention, is actually worth grades? Yeah! I thought it was just an extracurricular activity?! Oh well, it's easy marks, I suppose. Anyways. Today I had Avid first block, then French, after that came lunch time, following lunch was Phys. Ed, then to end my day, we had Social Studies. Whoopie! What a day. Tomorrow I have Math, Metal works, Science, English. :). Maybe this year wont be so bad after all... Anyway.

Must get going, have a workshop I have to head over to in 10 minutes. Lucky for me? Naah.

Thanks for listening, whoever you are!
Blog at ya later,

First Day Of School. (Well..half day.)

School. A six letter word that most teens hate. Okay. So maybe some classes are good. Actually, that's a lie. I'm really happy with this years schedule. Tomorrow is our first full day. Today we were only in session from 8:35 until 9:30. Tomorrow is our A B C D schedule so I'll have Avid, French, Phys.Ed, Social Studies. I can't exactly say I'm excited for this year, but I am curious to see how it turns out. Anyways, sorry for not blogging sooner, I've been occupying myself with a few different things, (i.e. friends, cell phone, card games, etc.etc.) anyways. I'll tell more later when I scoop out another blog-able thing :)

Just Venting.

Whats with all this DRAMA these days? I mean, can we not just grow up in a world of peace and maturity? Does everything have to be so over-done? over-played? is it really worth it? I mean, why can't a guy just date ONE girl. What seems so appealing of dating several girls at once? Don't they understand that girls speak? Meaning that it will get around and they'll find out and the guy will get screwed over twice as bad?

I don't get why people can't just be smart about things. You don't act all sweet and like you care, then go ahead and mess around with their feelings, and hurt them. I mean, at least with some guys, even if they aren't the cutest thing you've ever seen, or the sweetest guy you've ever met, at least he treats you how you deserve to be treated, and he knows the things you like and treats you nicely. Hell! I'm a teen! Why am I so concerned about this stuff? According to my parents I "shouldn't even be dating yet." but according to everyone else I'm at the perfect age to experiment with dating and things like that, to find out what type of guy I like and what I'm looking for in a guy. But like everyone else says, with more privileges comes more responsibility, you're not going to just go out and date someone and go really far with him.

Whatever. I'm done venting. Thanks for listening, whoever you are.

Lazy Day!!

Wow! So I woke up this morning around 7am, let the cat out, then fell asleep again. I completely woke up at 9:30, turned on the laptop, and slowly woke up. (Notice the laptop was the first thing on my mind, just a note to show how dependent society can be upon technology!) Around 11 I got up and took a shower, dried off, changed into some clothes I could present myself in, and got to planning. I decided to go to Silver Creek, as I have done pretty much every day for nearly a month and a half now. Down there I met with my friend Devan, and then Kevin came. We left to Devan's house and I played with the kittens for a while well Devan went on the computer, and Kevin sat in the living room with me. I had gotten to Silver Creek around 2, and Dad picked me up at 4:30. Now I am at home, and waiting for dinner. It's 5:40. I'll be eating in about 5 minutes and then head off to Silver Creek again,

Creative Writing Story...Any ideas for a name?

This is a short story I am coming up with as I go. =) I am in a writing mood and want to see what I can come up with.

Tesla was a short teenager, at the age of 15. She only stood 5'1. Her long brown hair really brought out the tone of her hazel eyes. Her teeth were as white as snow and almost seemed to glisten when the sun caught them, almost like a set of perfect little pearls in her mouth. Her wardrobe often consisted of jeans, t-shirts, layered tank-tops, and sweaters. She was a very simple girl, but the simplicity made her seem even more beautiful. In school she was the center of attention with all of the students, the guys wanted a chance to take her on at least one date, or if they were lucky even be her boyfriend. The girls all wanted to befriend her, or be like her. Needless to say, she held the majority of the popularity in her school.

One bright and sunny Saturday morning, Tesla woke up to her Mom bringing her a cup of her favorite, Vanilla Chai tea. She thanked her mother and sat up to drink it. It was a normal morning for her, every morning at around eight, her mom would wake her to a cup of tea, her chihuahua, Matia, would lay at the foot of the bed still sound asleep, and her radio would still be playing the soft music that it had been the night before, when she had fallen asleep. The curtains were drawn back so the sun shone through, flooding her room with an orange-yellow glow. This particular morning, though, something seemed different. It was not, however, anything to do with her regular morning ritual, it had to do with what she was feeling inside. She could not understand what she was feeling, but something was telling her that today would be a great day to explore.

After finishing up her tea, she went downstairs to help her mom finish making the pancakes. She watched carefully as the thick stream of pancake batter poured from the bowl onto the hot frying pan. Her mother would flip each pancake once, in order to thoroughly cook each side, then put them on a plate where Tesla would transfer them to the table. When there was one pancake left, Tesla opened the fridge and pulled out the syrup, butter, and jam, then put them on the table. The dishes and cutlery had already been placed. Her mom finished up the last pancake and brought it over to the table and sat down across from Tesla. "So honey, how was your sleep?" Tesla's mom asked. "Good, yours?" "Fine. What are you going to do today?" "I think I am going to go exploring, with Matia." Tesla answered. "Oh that sounds fun." her mom said, and they ate the rest of their breakfast in silence.

When breakfast was over, and they had finished washing, drying, and putting away all the dishes, Tesla ran upstairs to her bedroom. Matia was just waking up when Tesla walked into the room, and laid on the bed for a while, watching Tesla throw on some clothes, and then some shoes. This got Matia's tail wagging, wherever Tesla went, she always brought along Matia. Tesla reached into Matia's own personal drawer, and pulled out her leash and booties. She carefully slipped a bootie on each of Matia's feet, then clipped her leash on, and they left.

They walked down the drive way and up the street a little bit. Tesla lived in a busy part of the city. Buses and cars, trucks and vans, all whizzed past the two as they sauntered on down the street. Tesla was looking around, wondering where to go, when she noticed what looked like a trail on the other side of the street. Why that's funny, she thought, of all the years we've lived in this house and I've never noticed that. She walked up to the crosswalk, crossed the street, then headed for the trail. It seemed to be a some-what narrow path, so she picked up Matia, and walked in. There were tree branches hanging low, and bushes covering the path. Tesla checked her pocket to make sure she had her cell phone with her. After confirming so, she continued up the path, for about three minutes straight, the path was quite narrow and grown-over, but after that, it opened up into a bit of a wider path, enough that she could put Matia down to walk herself. The bushes didn't seem so grown over at this part of the trail. She looked around, fearing that there may be a weird person, or animal, hiding in the bushes or trees. Telling herself she was the only one there, Tesla continued down the path for another five minutes. The whole time she had been looking down to make sure she doesn't trip over anything, or accidentally wander off the path, when she finally looked up, there was a gorgeous waterfall a short distance away. It wasn't tall or even run into a notice-able stream, but it was beautiful. The trees opened up around it, allowing for the sunlight to trickle in over the water creating a gorgeous view. The water almost seemed to sparkle, as it ran down into the base, and probably out of an underground stream. The water was so blue, and so clean looking. Tesla walked closer to it, watching it carefully and looking it over from top to bottom. It looked as though it could fit in a dream or an imaginary world. As she got closer she found a rock to sit on, that sat right next to the bed of water. She took off her shoes, rolled up her pants, and dipped her toes into the water. The water was cold, but not freezing, it made her feet tingle a bit, but she didn't remove them.

She sat there for a while, at least fifteen minutes, before she noticed that someone, or something, was watching her. She finally noticed when something had moved in the bushes. "Who, whose there?" "No one!" a voice shouted. "Smart move dumb ass." said another voice. The bush rustled a little more, and out walked a short brown-haired boy. His gorgeous green eyes really took Tesla by surprise, she couldn't help but stare in awe. "You idiot" the other one said, walking out of the bush. The guy was 6 feet tall, at least, with the same gorgeous green eyes, except he had a lighter shade of hair, and it was shaggier than the other boys hair. She stepped back a bit, and Matia growled, attempting to defend her master. "Who are you?" she asked, studying the two boys as they stood next to each other a few feet away from her. "I am Toni, and I'm 17 years old" the tall one said. "I'm Austin, I'm 14." the short one said. "We're um, visiting..." Toni said, making it sound rather unconvincing. "Well, actually, we live here." Austin said. "Live here?" Tesla asked, gawking at the two boys. "Well," Toni started. "you see, how can I put this?" he asked himself, looking down at the ground. "Basically, you are not in the world you thought you were in, the trail you followed here, it was not an ordinary trail. You unknowingly passed through a vortex, transforming you from your world, to ours." Toni carefully said, looking at her, worried he might give her a heart attack. Tesla laughed, which took both Toni and Austin by surprise. "You mean to tell me, that that trail led me into some different world, and you two don't technically live on the planet we call Earth? Ha! Yeah, okay then, creeps." Tesla said, walking towards where the trail where she had stepped out of a few minutes before. "Wait," Austin said. "you can't go back that easily." he finished. "What do you mean? I walked out of that trail, and ended up here, I can just as easily walk back through the trail and out, I'm going home, good bye." she said, beginning to walk down the trail. Toni and Austin followed a few short feet behind her. "Why are you following me?" she asked, quickening her pace. The boys remained silent, and quickened their pace to match hers. "Slow down." Austin said. "Why should I?" Tesla asked. Just then, almost as if on cue, the ground broke into a black hole. Toni quickly grabbed Tesla by the arm to stop her from falling. "I told you to slow down.." Austin noted, carefully looking at her and Toni. Toni pulled her back up and placed her on her feet, it seemed like an easy task for him, as if she were a feather floating through the air. "Thank you." she said, dusting herself off, while still clutching to Matia. Matia seemed to press herself into Tesla, as if she were scared of the two boys. Who wouldn't be? Tesla sure was. "So, how do I get home?" she asked, staring at the hole. The fact that she could only see a tiny circle of what seemed to be the "bottom" made Tesla dizzy, so she propped herself up against a tree and watched the two boys. "Well, its not a very simple task, I wish we could have stopped you earlier in the trail, but we had no clue you were even here until we came towards the water fall and smelt your scent in the air. So we hid, you weren't supposed to know we were around, but I guess you 'discovered' us." said Toni. "I see." was all Tesla could say. "Come with us, we will go back to our house, you can stay with us until we find you a way home, okay?" Austin said, heading up the trail. Toni looked after him as if he had just invited a disease over to the house, but then happily looked over at Tesla. Tesla just glared and walked past him, Matia looked over her shoulder at Toni. "Fiesty." Toni muttered to himself. "Pardon me?" Tesla asked in a rather rude tone. "Oh, nothing, nevermind, just talking to myself." "Yeah, okay then." Tesla said, speeding up a bit to catch up with Austin.

Their house wasn't very far up the trail, in fact, after about a ten minute walked, you were in this city sort of setting. Well, it seemed to be a city, but nothing looked like your average city on earth. She followed a few short steps behind Austin, "how much longer?" she asked, looking at her phone. "Three more houses." Toni replied. "Alright. Crap, no service." "No shit sherlock, you aren't in your own time, remember?" "Oh right." Tesla said, looking at the ground a bit embarrassed. She shoved her phone back in her pocket. "So if I'm going to be here for a few days, we're going to need dog food for Matia, and I'm going to need clothes, I can't continuously wear the same thing, you know!" Tesla said, looking over at Toni, and the up towards Austin. They turned into a driveway. The house was a bit smaller than all of the rest she had seen, but had a very home-like feeling to it. There was a little flower-garden under a large window on the right hand side of the house. The big red door looked very welcoming, Austin opened it and walked in first, then Tesla, then Toni. The sound of the door shutting behind her caught her off guard and caused her to jump forward a little bit. "Oh, sorry." Toni said, smiling, showing off a gorgeous, cheesy smile. "It's alright." Tesla said, returning the smile. They held each others gaze for a fraction of a second, until Austin interrupted, "I'll show you around quickly, just so you have an idea of where everything is." he said. "Okay." she replied, following him through an arch-way. "This is the living room and dinning room area, and as you can see, thats the kitchen." he said. "Do you want to see upstairs? There are only bedrooms and a bathroom up there," Toni said, pointing towards the staircase that was on the other side of the main entrance. "Um, yeah sure." Tesla said, carefully following him towards it. They walked up the stairs, there was a tiny rectangular-shaped "hallway" type thing, to the right and left were doors that obviously led to bedrooms, because the one directly in front of them led to the bathroom. "That's Austins room," Toni said pointing to the door on the left "and that's mine." he said, pointing to the door on the right. "Where do your parents live?" "In this timing of the world, parents leave children when they turn ten years old." "Ten? Why so young?" "Because they teach us everything we need to know by the age of ten, and then they go off to finish their lives happily, without the stress of having teenagers in the house." "I see." she said, taking a peek into each of the rooms. "So where will I be sleeping?" Tesla asked. "Well, there is the couch downstairs, or we can get you a bed up here in one of our rooms, or we could get a new house." "New house?!" Tesla looked at him like he was crazy. "Well you see, here we go by trade, not money. This house is worth one a little bit bigger, just with three bedrooms, instead of two. It wouldn't be that hard, we could have it done by tonight, if you want to, I know a married couple whose two children just moved out, they have been trying to talk us into taking their three bedroom home, and they'd take this one." Tesla just looked at him. "Okay, I'll give them a call." "You don't have to do that for me, I won't be here for long, I have to go home at one point or another." "Should we tell her?" Toni asked Austin. "I think so." "Tell me what?" Tesla asked. "Well, you see, when you come into this time period, quite often, you don't get out. They haven't solved a way. And none of your friends or family can be contacted, there is a 'duplicate' of you playing the role of your life on earth, so your friends and family wont even know you're gone, but you'll be living here." "What? I'll never see them again?" "Nope, but every once in a while, the phone some times will pick up the call, so instead of your duplicate answering, you will, but you mustn't tell them about this." "Why not?" "Well, then you'd have to pay consequences, either they would get brainwashed, and wouldn't remember you, or we'd have to destroy the planet earth, or at least that person. We can't have them knowing about us, or they will screw up our society with science, damn earthlings." "Why do you keep calling it 'earth' and them 'earthlings' we are still on earth, just in a different time frame, am I right?" "Basically, but we like to look at ourselves as a more advanced society than yours. You'll soon understand why." "Okay.." Tesla said, heading back down the stairs. "What do you guys have to drink around here?" "Watch this," Austin said, clicking a few buttons on a machine. "Okay, heres your catalogue, pick out whatever you'd like." "What?" Tesla said, looking confused. "Just touch right there, and pull the little scroll thing down, when you've found a drink you'd like, click on it." "Okay," Tesla said, scrolling down. "Is there a search thing, so I don't have to look through them all?" "Yeah, right here, just type it in." Toni said, pointing to a place on the screen. "Okay, thanks." Tesla said, typing in "Vanilla Chai" tea. The option popped up and she clicked it, within thirty seconds there was a steaming hot cup of tea ready to be taken off the shelf. "Wow, thats amazing." Tesla commented, heading into the living room.

more to come!

City Bound. Part2

--Chapter3--

When 6 o'clock rolled around, we changed our outfits and fixed our make-up. "See ya." Hernan said, as we left the apartment. "Bye Hunn." Steph said. "Talk to you later." I said, as Steph and I walked away. "So I was thinking we could just catch the sky train to Commercial Drive and then walk up the street? We could take the bus, but it's kind of gross." "Yeah, I vote we walk, I hate public transit." I replied. "Okay." she replied, walking towards the door that led out of the building. The walk to the sky train was nearly silent, which was alright, it was nice to have a chance to think, and take in the city, and it was only a five minute walk to the Gilmore skytrain station. "Okay, I'll just grab the tickets and we can head up." "Alright." I said, watching her press various buttons on the screen of the machiene. "Okay, here you go." she said, handing me my ticket. We headed up the stairs and to the waiting area. Within a minute a sky train screeched to a halt in front of us and a load of people exited the train. "Lets sit over here," Steph said, walking towards the back of the skytrain, and sitting down. "Okay," I said, following her. As we sat there staring out the window, we chatted about her work, and what I planned to do with my future. Aunt Steph gives amazing advice, I must say. She gives almost the same advice as any other adult, but the way she says it makes you want to listen, and actually use the advice to your own advantage. Three stops later, we got off the sky train and went back down a flight of stairs, and started walking down The Drive. It was amazing, there was different bits of art everywhere. The side walks had random paintings, some of the tiles cemented in the sidewalks had various art bits scratched into them, there were set ups of people drawing portraits of people, or creatic scenic paintings. There was a lot of color, and a range of people from homeless to high-end classy. There were several little resturants with patios that were full. The smell of all the different foods made my stomach growl, good thing we were heading to a restaurant. We passed a few cutes boutiques and a corner store or two. Finally, about five to ten minutes later, we showed up at the door of a little Cuban restaurant. There was a line up backed up outside of the restaurant. "Excuse me?" Steph asked the lady, "Yes?" she replied. "How long will it take for a seat?" Steph asked. "Well, if you want to eat on the patio, an hour and a half, to two hours, if you want to eat inside, I can seat you right now." "Okay, we'll sit inside, thank you." Steph said, "Okay, right this way." the lady said, smiling and walking towards a table. "Here are some menus, and what would you like to drink?" she asked us. "I'll have a red wine, please." Steph said, "Okay, and you?" the lady said looking at me, "I'll have an iced tea, please." "Sure." she said, disappearing into the kitchen. "So what do you think your going to get?" Steph asked. "I'm not too sure, I don't even understand what it says!" "A lot of it is written in Spanish, what type of food do you want?" Steph asked, "Is there anything spicy?" "Not really, there are a lot of sea food dishes, and pastas, though." she replied. "Okay," I said, flipping to the pasta section. "The Pesca Linguini looks really good." I said, looking at what it had in it. "Yeah, it is like a pasta covered with different sea foods, like shrimp, muscles, and I'm not too sure what else." "Okay." I said. The lady came back with the drinks. "Thank you," Steph and I replied in unison. "Do you guys know what you want? Or do you need more time?" "I think we're ready." Steph said looking towards me. "Can I get the Pesca Linguini?" I asked, handing her my menu. "Totally, and you ma'am?" Steph ordered. "No problem," the lady said, wandering back to the kitchen, again. Steph and I talked some more, she told a few stories about past boyfriends and relationships, and some about her childhood and experiences. The stories of her growing up, and her whole life seemed fascinating. If I had to chose a role model for my life, I'd definately pick my Aunt Steph.

After dinner, we went into a room in the back of the restaurant where there was a small art gallery, tons of photographs were framed and put in this room, Steph said they consistantly change the pictures. We circled the room and "ooh"ed and "awwwe"d at the different pictures, and then left the restaurant. "What time is it?" I asked, Steph looked at her phone. "9 o'clock, wow, I didn't think time would pass that fast." "Wow." I said, again looking around at the different people and arts. Two people were just finishing up their side-walk paintings on the corner. "Those are gorgeous," I said, talking to Steph, but kind of hoping the artists had heard.

Random Blog About My Dog. <3

This is my boy Jake. He is a two year old purebred lab. Together we enjoy going for long walks, sometimes down by the river, sometimes just around town. He is very energetic, but loves to cuddle on the couch while we watch movies or just t.v. He likes to sleep on the bed, but sometimes he prefers the floor. He craves attention, you can never pet him just once. His eyes really catch me, he tends to smile a lot. I don't look at him as a pet or a dog, to me he is a best friend. I love Jake a lot. :)

Random thoughts.

For the last two days I attended a "Leadership Retreat" at school, it was the beginning of a program I am in at school, basically we are like a planning committee, we plan and arrange the dances, and other events at school. Throughout the two days we really got to know each other, and a man came in and helped us with "team building". After only two days we're already like a family. I am really excited, apparently we are a small group this year, but in a way that's better because there will be less conflict, which is good. Yesterday, one of the girls there, Delaney, and I volunteered to call a bunch of businesses and ask if they were willing to do a discount for the people in the school so students can use their ID cards for discounts in different stores. Leadership should be fun.

I'm slowly building up my parents trust again, which is a good thing. They are allowing me to stay out a little bit later then normal, and are trusting me more with the people I hang out with, even though they don't exactly 100% know any of them, which is amazing, I am loving the trust and freedom.

Where has our summer been? With only four and a half days until school starts, we've barely had any really good weather this summer, it's either been way too hot, or cold and rainy. Also, there seems to be a ton of wildfires, whats up with this? I don't recall us ever having this many.

Friends. Why do groups fall apart so often? I mean, in grade eight, I went from a group of friends that had been falling apart and coming back together ever since grade 4 for some of us, I have stopped hanging out with those people because I was fighting way too much with most of them, then I switched to this other group, but that wasn't working out for me, because they were nothing like me, a few of them were just people who I'd been friends with for a while. Now, since some time during July, I've been hanging out with this completely different group. Every group I've been in has been really different. Maybe me switching groups was just me getting to know myself and truly learning more about my personal interests, who I clash with and who I really hit it off with. So far, I'm really happy with my newest group of friends :).

Quote of the day: What lies behind us, and what lies before us, are nothing compared to what lies within us.

City Bound. Part1

This is a small story I am writing based on my recent experience to Vancouver B.C.

--Chapter 1--
A few weeks ago my cell rang while I was checking some emails. "Hello?" I asked. "Hey, its Auntie Steph" a voice replied. "Oh hi!" I said, excited to hear from her after not talking to her for almost a year. I guess time takes us by surprise with how fast it passes. "How has your summer been?" Steph asked me. "Good! How about yours?" I replied. "Good, just been working a lot and working towards finishing school, finally." "That sounds awesome." "Yeah, so what have you been doing this summer?" "Not a lot, mostly hanging out with friends, playing on the computer, and sleeping." "That sounds fun. Hey, I had an idea. I haven't seen you in a while, so I was wondering if you'd like to come visit me this weekend? I could pick you up on Thursday when I'm out for business. I live in West Burnaby now." "Really? That sounds amazing! I'll ask my parents." "Okay, you can text or call me back, this is my cell number, okay?" "Okay, sounds good." "Alright, I'll talk to you later, bye, oh yeah, don't forget your bathing suit, there is a pool and a jacuzzi here." "Okay! See ya!" I replied and we hung up.

Okay, so I know a ton of people know exactly what it's like being in the city, or they've at least experienced it. The closest thing I got to a city was Surrey, and I was only there until I was 7 so it's not like I got to experience much. All that was running through my head was how lucky I was to get to see my Aunt again, to visit her new home, and to explore some of downtown Vancouver.

"Mom?" I called, as I ran up the stairs. "Yeah?" she replied. "I just got a call from Aunt Steph asking if I'd like to visit her this Thursday, can I go?" I asked. "Sure, sounds good, when will you be back?" "Friday night or Saturday morning." "Okay, thats great, I work in Surrey on Friday so I could pick you up." "Okay, I'll let her know." I said pulling my phone out of my pocket and sending her a text saying that I was alowed and she could just drop me off at Mom's work on Friday. "I'm going to go pack, theres only two days until I leave." I said heading back down the stairs to my bedroom.

I pulled my over-night suitcase out of its place in the corner, and laid it on the bed. "What should I bring?" I asked myself. Never having been in the city quite often I pondered what I should bring. Approximately five minutes later I stood up and walked over to the dresser. "Okay, city people dress casual, but classy, high-end, but not over-the-top dramatic." I said. Opening my shirt drawer. Wow, this would be hard. I mean, in my town, I care about what I look like, but I don't put too much time into thinking about what to wear. I carefully searched through my shirts, pulling each one out and looking at it, deciding weather it was good enough, or not. Some shirts are really easy to tell about the city, you just know that some are not meant for a place like that. After going through all of my shirts, I chose a red long sleeve semi-button up top with a white tank-top underneath, a seperate white tank-top to wear, a neon yellow tank top, my "I love rock" tee-shirt, and a black tank-top. For pants I chose two pairs of jeans, my dark skinnie jeans, and my light-grey boot-cut jeans, I also picked a pair of pink athletes shorts. I packed my multi-colored striped bikini-top with my brown bikini-bottoms. Then came shoes, oh how I love shoes. I couldn't figure out what ones to bring. I have a small book-shelf stacked with shoes, each one fits different types of outfits. For a two-day trip, I picked out five pairs of shoes, my brown high-heels, my jean high-heel sandals, my walking flip-flops, my water flip-flops, and my runners. Then came hair-supplies and make-up. Make up wasn't too hard, I usually have a travel pack already set to go, just in case something like this were to come up, and hair wasn't too bad either. I packed my straightener, my blow dryer, my brush, my shampoo and conditioner, and some hair elastics incase I wanted to pull it back into a pony tail. I made a mental note to pack my toothbrush and toothpaste the day we were going to leave, since I would still need them for the next couple of days. I moved the bag to my couch, and then sat down to watch some t.v.

The next two days seemed quite slow to pass, but finally they did, and the day she was coming to pick me up had finally arrived. I woke up Thursday morning around 11, mom had already left for work, and Dad was watching over some kids, which was Mom's second job, her daycare. I crawled out of my bed and hopped up the stairs. "Good morning," Dad greeted me when I got to the top. "Morning, how are you?" I asked. "Alright, yourself?" "Not too bad." I said walking into the kitchen. I pulled out the blender and threw in some milk, fruit, yogurt, and a couple drops of vanilla extract, and whipped up a smoothie. The smoothie was delicious, I put it in a large glass and cleaned the blender, then sat down to drink my smoothie. "What are you doing today?" Dad asked. "Well, I think I'll just lay around and let the day pass me until Aunt Steph gets here, she said she'll be here around 3 o'clock." "Okay." Dad said, going into the living room to sit down and watch t.v. When I finished my smoothie I rinsed it out and left the glass in the sink and went downstairs to clean up my room a bit, and make my bed.

As I finished spreading up the comforter of my bed, I was deciding what to do next. I chose to check my emails, since it was quarter to twelve, I had a ton of time left until Aunt Steph was coming. I turned on Mom's computer and waited as the screen lit up, and everything loaded. I love the sound of a computer when it starts up, the little gears and gadgets all beginning to do their job, it's like music to my ears. I opened up msn and logged in, within a minute, I had seven people talking to me, some were messages that people sent last night, after I had logged off. I searched my contacts to see if anyone I wanted to talk to was online. Nope. I opened up the browser and typed in 'www.hotmail.com' and logged in. Lots of junk mail. Next I checked my facebook. Nothing too interesting happening on there. I looked at the clock. It was only 12:15. What now? I wondered. I logged off of everything and went back into my bedroom. Looking around, I decided to watch a movie. I looked at my shelf and pulled off "The Tigger Movie". I love Tigger. As I popped it in the VHS player, I turned the t.v onto Video 2, and sat down.

--Chapter 2--
At 1:45 I recieved a text from Aunt Steph, it read 'Hey, I'll be a little early, maybe closer to two.' "Yes!" I said outloud. 'Okay.' I replied. I grabbed my suitcase and wheeled it out to near the front door, and ran upstairs. "Aunt Steph said she'll be here in about fifteen minutes." I told my Dad, "Okay" he replied. I went into the bathroom and pulled my hair back into a pony-tail, and grabbed my toothbrush and toothpaste to put them in my bag. I stood on the deck looking over for about ten minutes, taking in the mountains and trees, and small houses in my small town, and then went back inside. I went downstairs to put the toothbrush and toothpaste in my bag, then went back upstairs to sit in the living room with my Dad. "So when does Mom get off work tomorrow?" I asked. "I'm not too sure, ask her later tonight." he said, glancing at me, then back to the t.v. "Okay." I said. I stood up to look out the window, Auntie Steph pulled into the drive way. Our dogs started to bark, "No" I said firmly, as I ran down the stairs to open the door for her. "Hello." I said, "Hi" she replied, I backed up a bit so she could come in. She stepped in and my Dad came part way down the stairs to say hello. "Hi, Chuck." Steph said, smiling and looking at him. "Hey, come on in." Dad said. "Okay," Steph said, walking towards the stairs. She was about to take off her shoes when Dad replied "Oh, no don't worry about your shoes, we have to clean the floors anyways." "Oh, okay." She said, and then she started to head up the stairs. "This is the living room, ignore the dogs, they're loud, but harmless." "Okay." she said "Thats Fiddich, Dad's dog," I said pointing at our newest dog who is tiny, "That's Maggie, Mom's dog," I said, pointing at our terrier, another small dog, "And that's my dog, Jake." I said, pointing at my lab. "Cute!" she exclaimed, looking at them all. "Yeah." I said. We walked through the rest of the house, showing her the different rooms. I showed her my room last. "Okay, so are you ready to go?" She asked, when we were done looking at the house. "Yes." I said, grabbing my suitcase and my purse. I threw on my runners and said good bye to my Dad, then followed Aunt Steph out the door to her car. "You can put your bags in the trunk, here I'll open it." she said, pulling it open and I put my suitcase in. "So how's your day been?" she asked, as we got into the car. "Pretty good, very slow." I said. "Oh yeah, I had a few customers, Hope sure is small." she said, commenting on the town. "Yes, it is." I said.

The two hour drive didn't seem too long, the whole time we were talking about life, boys, experiences, interests, and what we wanted to do while I was out. As we parked, she waved across the parking lot. "Hey!" she said. "Hi, how was your day?" her fiance Hernan asked, walking towards us. "Pretty good!" "That's good, Hi Julie." he said looking at me. "Hello" I replied, smiling. "Lets go inside." he said, walking towards the door. Steph and I followed. Their house was only down the hallway a little bit. When I walked in, a fat orange cat greeted us at the door. Well, them, I don't think she was expecting to see me, she was a little skitty once she saw me, and decided to run and hide under the bed. "Don't worry about it," my Aunt said, "she doesn't really like company, we rescued her from the SPCA." "Oh, okay." I said, "Where should I put my bags?" I said, looking around the appartment. "Just in that room over there, the computer room." Steph said, pointing towards a door. "Okay." I said, rolling my bag into the room. It was a very cute, small appartment, I really liked it. As you walked in the door, to your right was a door to the bathroom, and to your left was a little kitchen, when you were in there, you could see over the counter into a small sitting space, which attached to the living room, it was all one room for those three, then there was the computer room, and their bedroom. Their bedroom also had its own bathroom. Hernan started cleaning a bit, Wow, a man that cleans! I thought. "You can go on the computer whenever you like," Steph said, pointing towards her laptop, "but the wireless doesn't work on my business computer, which I am just going to go on for a second and let every one know I'm taking the day off tomorrow, maybe I'll take Monday off too." she said, walking into the room and turning on her work computer. "Sweet." I said, turning on the t.v. and switching through some channels. "Do you like video games?" Hernan asked. "Yes." I replied. "We have a ps2 with Grand Torino, my favorite, if you like racing games." "Okay," I replied, he hooked up the ps2 and helped me get started. "Driving an automatic might be easier, if you haven't played before, then you don't have to change the gears, it will do it for you." "Okay," I said, picking out a Volkswagon Golf, automatic, same car as Aunt Steph has. I started a race. I played around for a while with the game, trying to figure out how to gain better control over the car. After about a half an hour, I decided to switch back to watching the t.v. I put it on my favorite channel, Much Music, and laid back in the chair to watch the t.v. "So what do you want for dinner tonight? We can go out to a restaurant." Steph said, "What type of food do you like?" she asked. "I like pretty much anything, I like spicy foods, a lot." I said. "Okay." she answered. "Well, this food isn't exactly spicy, but I know a great little Cuban restaurant on The Drive, we can have Korean food for lunch tomorrow, if you want?" she said. "Sure, The Drive?" I asked. "Yeah, Commercial Drive." she said. "Oh! Okay." she said. "Would you like a drink?" she asked. "Sure." "Okay, do you like juice?" she asked. "Yeah." I said, she poured us each a glass of juice. "Thank you," I said, as she handed me mine. "No problem." she said, sitting down with hers. "So when should we go? Around six maybe?" she said. "Sure." I said, I glanced at the clock, it was five. I grabbed the laptop and turned it on. After checking my emails and replying to a few friends, I opened up my nexopia account and showed her my blogs of layouts I made. "Those are cute, do you like computer technology like that?" she asked. "Yeah, I really enjoy computers and learning different things about them. I like to build my own website layouts and things like that. My friend said he could teach me how to build a computer if I bought the parts, but it would be pretty expensive." I said. "You could go into college for a computer tech course, a lot of people who do a computer technology course turn out to be very successful business people." she replied. "Yeah, that would be really fun." I said, considering the idea for a moment. "Yeah, you could learn a ton about computers and how they work, and everything." "Yeah." I said, beginning a new layout.
